This month at the Software Beginners meetup, we are going to do an introduction to Elixir and Phoenix by creating a real time chat application. We will soon have a starter repo created - and we'll send out a message when it's ready - but in order to prepare for this meetup, make sure that you have Elixir installed.
For Mac users, in the Terminal app run the following commands:
• brew update
• brew install elixir
• mix local.hex
• brew install node
• mix archive.install https://github.com/phoenixframework/archives/raw/master/phoenix_new.ez
For Windows Users, there is an installer for Elixir:
and an installer for Node
