MTRAS ~ MidTn Robotic Arts Society Monthly Meetup

Note the meeting time change.  We are moving the meetings to 10am in the morning.  We will break for lunch.  This timing will give us an opportunity to host builds, classes etc after lunch.

Newbies, gearheads & everyone in between are welcome. Most meetings start with a show and tell format.  the show and tell is informal and last about an hour.  We then break-up for informal discussions.  We always welcome anyone wanting to give a specific presentation. Let us know if you'd like to present on a particular topic!

    SIGN-IN PROCEDURES:

Starting on October 24th MTRAS members will use a separate sign in table.

A member of MTRAS or Larry Dunlap-Berg, with the Adventure Science Center, will staff the table between 9:45 -10:15. (ASC’s front desk admission staff will be busy preparing to open the science center so please do not ask them for assistance.)

As you approach the science center, please use the entrance doors on the left side. When you enter the lobby look for the sign-in table, which will have a MTRAS flyer attached, on your left (near Jack Wood Hall).

You will sign in as you have in the past but will be given a wrist band specific for MTRAS members, and then you may go to Eureka Corner for the meeting. You MUST have a wristband to attend MTRAS meetings and afternoon workshops, and we encourage you to re-use your meeting wristband for the workshop.

A member of MTRAS will setup and staff the table again from 1:15 - 1:30 for workshops.

If you arrive late you must now wait in line and sign in at the front desk. No exceptions.

Meetings are still free unless you plan on paying to explore the Science Center, which we encourage.

WHERE WE MEET AT THE ASC:

We typically meet on the second floor in the Eureka room, which is in the far right corner as you walk up the steps to the second floor.

message the organizers if you have any questions.

    See ya'll there!

MTRAS ~ 3D Printer tinkering workshop

We have a bunch of members who are into, or are getting into the 3D printer scene. This months workshop time will be used to discuss and help each other out on any issues you may have with your printer. It's a good opportunity for people who don't have 3D printers to see what the fuss is all about. Newbies, gearheads & everyone in between are welcome.
    SIGN-IN PROCEDURES:

A member of MTRAS or Larry Dunlap-Berg, with the Adventure Science Center, will staff the table between 1:15 and 1:30 (ASC’s front desk admission staff will be busy preparing to open the science center so please do not ask them for assistance.)

    Nashville Mini Maker Faire

The Nashville Mini Maker Faire (or NMMF from here on out) is a one day exhibition of creative making. Think of NMMF as a local version of Maker Faire Bay Area or World Maker Faire New York, two yearly exhibitions organized by Make Magazine. NMMF is one of over 100 “mini” faires around the globe, organized by local grassroots makers.

NMMF will host exhibitors, vendors, workshop teachers, panelists and performers from around the region. The faire will take place at the Adventure Science Center, using its outdoor campus.
