    Case Study: Google's Sprint Process

    MEETUP: State-Local-Government-Developers-Network

Join us Wednesday, April 12 as Jeffrey Mikres, IT Director, Consumer Solutions at LifeWay Christian Resources, shares his team's experience with Google Venture's design sprint process - ideating a new product and pitching it to clients, all in a 5 day sprint.

-SPEAKER- From Jeffrey Mikres: "Google Venture's design sprint process represents an effective and proven way to ideate around new product development. They've used it with hundreds of companies as well as with internal teams at Google. The process involves a 5-day plan that culminates on a Friday putting your prototype in front of real, potential customers to get feedback. This talk will walk you through the basics of what happens during those 5 days and will give you the tools to come up with your own product ideas and get them in front of customers. It'll also touch on the recent design sprint run at LifeWay for a potential new product. If you develop products and ideas for users, and haven't read Sprint (https://goo.gl/csjGk4), I highly recommend it. Jeff will also be doing a short Q&A after he presents."

-DOOR PRIZES- I've purchase three copies of "Sprint" to give away as door prizes, so please be sure to sign in as you arrive to get your name on the spin wheel for a chance to win.

-AGENDA- 5:30 -- Arrive and check-in to be entered to win the door prize. Socialize with the room. Announcements. 6:00 -- presentation and Q&A with Jeffrey Mikres 7:00 -- stay to talk or head on home

Code + Pinot :: Kanban Fundamentals for Everyday Life - Sponsored by LeanKit

Sometimes it feels like 24 hours in a day still isn’t enough to complete all of the projects we have on our to do lists. Even for those with the greatest of multi-tasking skills, it seems projects fall through the cracks or the outcomes at completion are less than stellar.

Join us as LeanKit takes us through a TWO PART series on Kanban! The first will be looking at understanding what Kanban is in a very practical way - our normal everyday lives. The second, to be held in March, will look at how Kanban is used in a software development environment.

In this first workshop, LeanKit will introduce the basic concepts behind Kanban and how to incorporate these into your everyday life creating greater efficiency, a better understanding on how to set priorities, and see your projects and to-do lists get done!
